Today, according to the latest data of China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, China's power battery output in November totaled 28.2GWh, up 121.8% year-on-year, and up 2.4% month-on-month. The output of ternary battery was 10.4GWh, accounting for 36.8% of the total output, with a year-on-year growth of 42.6% and a sequential growth of 12.9%. The output of Lithium Iron Phosphate battery was 17.8GWh, accounting for 63.0% of the total output, with a year-on-year growth of 229.2% and a sequential growth of 12.0%.

It can be seen that both production and growth rate, the production of lithium iron phosphate batteries has been behind the ternary battery, if the monthly data is not convincing, do not take a look at the performance from January to November this year. Data show that from January to November this year, China's power battery cumulative output of 188.1GWh, a year-on-year growth of 175.5%. The cumulative output of ternary batteries was 82.4GWh, accounting for 43.8% of the total output, with a year-on-year growth of 175.5%. The cumulative output of lithium iron phosphate battery was 105.3GWh, accounting for 56.0% of the total output, with a year-on-year growth of 275.7%. It should be noted that not only the production is increasing, in terms of the loading volume from January to November, lithium iron phosphate battery has also exceeded the ternary battery and become the new favorite in the market. The specific data are as follows: From January to November, the total domestic ternary battery car is 63.3GWh, accounting for 49.3% of the total loading volume; The loading capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery is 64.8GWh, accounting for 50.5% of the total loading capacity. In 2018-2020, the domestic loading volume of lithium iron phosphate battery is lower than ternary battery, last year, the market share of lithium iron phosphate battery is 38%, far lower than the 61% market share of ternary battery. Although lithium iron phosphate battery has low energy density defects, it has advantages in safety and cost because it does not use nickel, cobalt and other expensive resources, and has been favored by more and more automotive enterprises.
